There has been much speculation over the past few days on the progress of the current conflict. Many journalists are questioning the administration’s official reports that everything is going according to plan and reports from the front are not too reassuring.
New reports now indicate that Donald Rumsfeld, the US Defense Secretary, may have been behind this trouble by wanting a “cheap war” as the BBC put it. While it may at first seem as though he should have not overruled his advisors, some say that this fits perfectly into the administration’s larger plan of attacking and invading other nations in the near future while the occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq are still in progress.
