Over the past few weeks the US government has announced that their forces will be leaving Saudia Arabia for the time being. Even though they blame it on the alleged rift that opened up after Saudia Arabia refused to allow attacks on Iraq to be flown from there, one of the US bases “could be used again if the US and Saudi Arabia decided it was necessary”. If you ask me this is merely a political PR move carried out to imporve Bush’s chances of getting elected in 2004.
