No WMDs

Over the past few weeks we have seen the predictions of many progressives come true as absolutely no WMDs have turned up in Iraq. Even those notorious trailers were merely used to manufacture hydrogen for use in baloons.

The recent moves of the DOD to shove the blame off to the CIA only back up the general theory that nothing will be found.

Dear Sir,

President Bush initiated the war on Iraq based on intelligence that spoke of massive Weapons of Mass Destruction programmes undertaken by the Hussein regime. Over the past few weeks, it has emerged that that intelligence was false and our forces in Iraq have not found any proof of any kind of WMDs whatsoever.

After consideration of many news reports and documents, I, like many other progressives, have come to the conclusion that the United States went to war with iraq based on false information. President Bush ascertained the American people that Iraq had WMDs and that therefore an invasion was just and fair while members of his administration knew full and well that such statements could not be substantiated with clear evidence.

I would therefore like to urge you to convene a special committee to investigate the President’s actions as he is ultimately responsible for those of his staff.

In 1999 you voted guilty on both charges leveled against President Clinton. I would be very pleased to see the same kind of vigor in the upkeep of justice again. We cannot have the leader of the Western world neglect his duty in such a serious manner.
