No domain name available

A little over a week ago, Verisign, the former sole domain name registrar added a wildcard functionality to the Internet’s root severs which resulted in any non-existing domain name queries to go to their website. This is however more than just another case of a former monopoly that can’t deal with the fact that its methods are outdated and its prices are too high. This is a fundamental infirngement on other corporations’ and users’ freedom.
