Over the past week or so, the Bush administration has been busy defending their occupation of Iraq with the same false arguments they have always been using.
Last Friday however, Vice pResident Dick Cheney introduced a new element, the “day of terror” routine, which may become very significant in his and Bush’s election campaign. In it, he described how terrorists could allegedly amass a large number of weapons to kill many Americans in one day. While this may be just another use of the regular cheap reference to 9/11, I would reckon that this may very well also be a reference to the future. If such a warning becomes a reality through another 9/11 type of attack, then the Bush administration’s “I told you so” effect would instantly guarantee them their election in 2004.
