Earlier today a Massachusetts court, in ignorance of American Law, ruled that banning same sex “marriages” is unconstitutional. While this is to be expected from a liberal state of the same kind as the one that chooses actors as leaders, it does violate Title 1, Chapter 1, Section 7 of the US Code, “The general and permanent laws of the United States of America” (from wikipedia), which reads as follows:
Sec. 7. – Definition of ”marriage” and ”spouse”
In determining the meaning of any Act of Congress, or of any ruling, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative bureaus and agencies of the United States, the word ”marriage” means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word ”spouse” refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.
If it does not then at least it is a very nonsensical ruling as “gay marriage” clearly is an oxymoron.
It is my hope that they will go the way of Vermont where the legislature clearly affirmed that a union between two people of the same sex is a civil union and recognized that it deserves just as many rights and priviledges as a marriage. The process towards a fairer future would go a lot faster if the opponents of marriage would join us in reality and support civil unions. That way, all conservatives and liberals will once again be able to live happily amongst each other.
