The 2nd curcuit court of appeals ruled today that Jose Padilla, a US citizen who was arrested on US soil and classified as an enemy combatant after having been accused of maybe having plans to possibly plan the planting of a dirty bomb, cannot be detained under this classification.
As this article correctly points out, however, this does not mean much as the Bush administration doesn’t think much of courts outside of election time.
