While many articles in the alternative press have suggested that Hussein may well not recieve a fair trial, none have considered the possibility mentioned by Eric Margolis in this article, namely the option of getting Saddam to sign off on a false confession claiming that he did indeed manufacture and hide WMDs. If one then considers how ignorant most American voters are, such a move could irreparably harm the Democrats’ efforts in 2004.
