Happy New Year

As 2003 nears its end, the question as to what 2003′s significance was is still unclear. The world of politics did not change all that much as pResident Bush continued his crusade against justice, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Democracy, minorities and the poor, just The People in general really. Another year, another war and more cash for the same billionaires.

It is probably safe to say that 2004 may turn out to be a lot worse. With the economy already in a sorry state it is painful to imagine what Bush may do next to The People. While some have suggested (or hinted at the possibility) that he will get another term in office as a present from Jeb again (such as Greg Palast in his bestseller “The Best Democracy Money Can Buy”), others more like me who do not scare away from “conspiracy” theories (or just have the ability to stomach the possible truth) have imagined worse. 9/11 was very convenient for Bush Inc., so maybe this time some foreign bunch of “criminals” other than the Saudi Royals will be conveniently left out of any investigations.

So here’s to the possibility of the seeds of a new Declaration of Independence being sown in 2004. Let us begin rebuilding the great nation our forefathers evnvisioned, free from bourgoise elite.
