As the Iowa caucus draws to a close, CNN is predicting that Sen. Kerry will win the state and has also just broken the news that Rep. Gephardt may be dropping out of the race after only coming in in 4th place.
The biggest surprise here is of course that Howard Dean has come in second to last of the top contenders with John Edwards being surprisingly successful. Dean’s staff reckons in his blog that New Hampshire will make up for this, but after this caucus, this prediction seems less than certain.
