SF same sex marriages invalidated

The California Supereme Court today ruled that the same sex marriages performed in San Francisco are illegal as they were based on a decision San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom made by overstepping his boundaries.

This is not much of a surprise for me. When this process started earlier this year I wrote that the mayor’s decision was reckless and would damage the LGBT community’s efforts in the long run and now it seems my prediction has come true.

While it is true that disobedience of Newsom’s kind has brought about change in the past, it is important to note that that was only so back then. Nowadays change is not brought about in such ways anymore.
