Ashcroft out
It is with great hope that I welcome Attorney General John Ashcroft’s resignation of last Tuesday, 11/2. While seeing him go will surely please many freedom loving Americans, I am somewhat hesitant to celebrate as his replacement could well be even more right wing and far more apt to believe in faith based intelligence.

Daschle loses Senate seat
Senate minority leader Tom Daschle has officially lost his seat to challenger Rep. John Thune. Well done, one more Democrat who couldn’t grow a large enough spine.
Karzai “wins” Afghan elections
In a move completely devoid of any trace of surprise, Hamid Karzai, former CIA agent and now “president” of Afghanistan is to be declared the winner of the Afghan “elections”. This is further proof that the neo-conservatives’ claims of democracy taking hold in Afghanistan are completely false.
Nader spoiling election for Bush
While following election results, it became clear to me that Nader was taking votes from Bush and not Kerry as Bush has constantly been fluctuating between 51% and 52% of the popular vote while Kerry has remained steady at 48%.
