According to a new article in the National Review by Richard Lowry, there are a good number of examples from the past few centuries of invading forces winning the battle against guerilla insurgencies, many of them quite similar to the one facing us in Iraq now.
Especially if we are to learn from the past it would therefore seem premature to call the Iraq situation a quagmire. On the same note, it would also be reckless and rash to pull out of Iraq now as ultraliberals are suggesting.
