I came across this editorial by an ultraliberal editor of my local newspaper today. In it she decries the fact that the US has yet to sign onto CEDAW, a socialist feminist treaty designed by the UN to give outrageous amounts of power to extrimists on the left who for years have been trying to force their agenda on respectable people in this country.
I applaud our government for not passing the ERA and not signing onto CEDAW either. What liberals fail to realize is that just because almost all UN member states agree to some unworthy ideals does not mean that we have to follow suit. They’re like little children wanting to have everything the hippie neighbor’s children have, not realizing that they will never amount to anything significant. There is no reason why we should sign onto the treaty as it is right now because it is flawed in numerous ways, such as failing to mandate that women recieve the exact same duties as men and less restrictive language when it comes to moral values such as the sanctity of life.
