Looks like time doesn’t change everything… In a recent interview, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich claimed that Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine owed his success to being a part of Metallica for just over a year in the early 80s. I was starting to wonder where the conceited Danish git in Lars had gone… If anything, Metallica owe much of their (early) success to Dave as he wrote the best of their ’82 – ’84 material.

Put this in your pipe and (don’t) smoke it by Paul Jacob
Townhall.com :: Columns :: Put this in your pipe and (don’t) smoke it by Paul Jacob
Now, although I don’t smoke, I will join libertarian and similar people on this issue and say that enough is enough. Government has no business in regulating what free people may do on private property, except where such behavior interferes with the maintenance of an orderly society (such as in the case of sodomy and similarly evil behavior).

Much life in leather
I recently found Metallica’s 1982 demo tape “No life ’til leather” online and have had a ton of fun listening to it. There is just something in Dave Mustaine’s solos that Kirk couldn’t match on the final versions that appeared on “Kill ‘em all”. And hearing the (original) Metallica Mechanix is sweet too.
P.S.: This one even Lars shouldn’t object to anyone downloading (unless he’s that ashamed of the crummy tom sound).
