If only this were an isolated case… Most colleges these days prefer smut and treason over serious scholarship. Liberal arts should not be a dirty word.
Hooray for the nanny state! Let them try enforce a complete smoking ban on their entire campus. Their PD will be so busy they won’t get to actual crimes anymore.
How about banning treason from campus?
“Often [the media] seize upon every heat wave to hype global warming, but see no implications in record-setting cold weather, such as many places have been experiencing lately.”
I was indeed going to ask how on earth constant -10 F windchill is supposed to be warmer than normal.
I bet liberals aren’t gonna cry “fascists!” when they hear about his nonsense. Next thing they’ll be refusing to admit children of Republicans… 🙄
Finally, scholarships for the rest of us!
“The haste and vehemence with which scores of Duke University professors publicly took sides against the students in this case is just one sign of how deep the moral dry rot goes, in even our most prestigious institutions.”
Outrageous? Yes, but not unusual. Universities are hotbeds of white self-hate, promotion of low brow values and endorsement of annihilation.
With the kind of morons they admit nowadays, this would seem to be a very good idea. Higher education should not be this expensive, period.
I wonder if I’ll be buying a Google Home branded house…
And we’re paying people like that to “educate us”… 🙄
Considering how dumb many freshmen are these days that’s pretty bad news.
A good question, but as long as we don’t “wake up” it’s really an irrelevant and futile question.
Dr. Adams has once again hit another nail on the head. Such dumb excuses for students really do infest universities.
The IIE also reported that my university, the University at Buffalo is also in the top 10 of the universities with the most enrolled foreign nationals.
Those people are nuts. “Screw a better future, I never want to hear!” 🙄
Have those people gone mad? What is it with their fascination with communist nonsense policies?!
A six year old in juvie? Are those people nuts or just pretending to be crazy?
Finally someone else is bothered by the throngs of imbeciles (a.k.a. dumb morons) clogging up the higher education system.
A great point. There are indeed for too many dumb degree holders out there. I hate to think of what they’re doing to the value of my degree.
Now I suck at math, but even I chuckled a few times at those dumb people. I think they could use a few jump to conclusions mats for Christmas.
More on the race related hypocrisy of self-hating liberals… They’ll do whatever they can to make sure that white people don’t succeed while they’ll give any idiot money and degrees so long as he dark skin.
Considering what kinds of criminals real nobels have been awarded to, I almost prefer these anti nobels.
And the ignorant masses keep claiming intelligence has nothing to do with genetics. 🙄
Limewire?! Anyone who uses that deserves to get caught and prosecuted.
Take that, Jack Handy!
An interesting read, though it reeks of tinfoil hat conspiracy nonsense.
Fancy that, a proper scientific innovation from the most pro-soddomite state in the union.
Half junk science half NSS award material. I’ve seen plenty of dumb people at my university and am therefore not surprised that many K-12 grads would be this bad, but 80% does seem very high.
More proof that college admissions standards are too low these days. If freshmen need to be lectured on topics like the “risks” of social networking then they should not be anywhere near an institution of higher education.
The most effective measure to start reforms at colleges would be to tighten admissions processes so that inappropriate students are no longer able to attend colleges with good reputations. To this end, personal interviews should be mandated to weed out students who are unable to cope with common sense, grade standards should be raised and all racial discrimination against white people should be eliminated by closing down any “affirmative action” and “equal opportunity” programs and offices. With the resulting higher IQ and common sense level in students, traitorous time wasting faculty would quickly become a burden and be discarded by administrators. This way we would also have a lot more citizens available to do the jobs stolen by Mexicans and other vermin here illegally.
And the GOP sells out to our domestic enemies yet again… 🙄 Why is abstinence such an alien concept to so many? It really is very simple to adhere to.
As comments are closed on his blog, I will respond to Prof. Halavais’ post on here.
While I can see how the censorship of social networking sites at schools could affect academic freedom of minors, I am surprised that I would see an anarchist / liberal come out in favor of parental responsibility. This aspect of the DOPA became necessary because too many parents nowadays expect the government to raise their children. If the parents won’t ask their representatives to help them, they’ll throw a fit if they fail to protect their children from danger.
This issue is like the prevalent liability waivers forced on fun loving people. Because too many liberals refuse to be responsible for themselves and their own failures, honest people and corporations have had to protect themselves against their stupidity.
A funny new hipocrisy this, yet perfectly in line with the usual fallacious arguments popular amongst liberals. They’ll love Darwin any time of day except when his thoeries could kill or harm them. I say remove the safeguards and let the dumb die.
This is the kind of issue I’ve been talking about. In all matters, no matter how “established in common knowledge”, differing opinions should be allowed to duel in order to determine the ultimate truth (as far as man can determine anyways).
Right on! Once again, the NCLB act is working for the betterment of this country. I hope secretary Spellings goes ahead and denies funding to undeserving states.
“Most public schools are far from outstanding. America’s government schools have rigid one-size-fits-all rules that reward mediocrity.”
Right on. It’s time more people recognized that children do differ beyond their personal characteristics. Some are more able than others at learning, so to hinder the able and to hold the hands of the unable until they’re dead is simply unAmerican.
While it can be funny to laugh at the outcomes of such mistakes, it is oftentimes also very annoying when people just don’t seem to understand the differences between words such as affect and effect.
